Last week we were learning about time. We had to practise saying the days of the week and the months of the year in order into the easi-speak. Listen to the children who completed this task. Good job!

A Visit from Whitcoulls
We were lucky enough to have another visit from the Whitcoulls ladies this week. They read us 3 very good books and then we made a little dinosaur. We wrote about our dinosaurs after the ladies left and we got a goodie bag. What a lovely treat for some great learners!

Whanau Groups
As it is maori language week, every week we have been going to a different classroom with our whanau groups. In Room 2 we made kowhaiwhai. In Room 9 we made taniwha masks. In Room 15 we made beautiful birds and in Room 20 we made flax flowers.
Pyjama Party
Last week the children in Room 2 filled up the class marble jar. They decided that their reward should be a pyjama party. Yesterday everyone brought their pyjamas to school! We played some games and had a dance. We read a story and then we got back into our uniforms so we were ready for our whanau groups. I wonder what the next treat will be?
Volcanic Rock
Silver went back to One Tree Hill with her family. She found some scoria. If you look closely you can see little holes where the gas bubbles popped. Cool!
Kahurangi Performance
This week is Maori Language Week. On Monday we had the Kahurangi group come to visit our school. They performed a maori legend called 'Hatu Patu and the Bird Woman' they also used string 'whai' to show us a different myth. The men had Taiaha. Some boys from our school got to get on stage and have a turn. It was awesome!
