Place Value

In maths the circle and triangle group are learning about place value. They know how to use place value to blocks to represent a two digit number. They can say how many tens and how many ones are in a number. One of their jobs this week was to make two digit numbers using the place value blocks and then to take a photo of the numbers.

Flowers

We are learning about plants in Room 2. We have a leaf chart, a seed chart and we have pressed some flowers. Look at the flowers Chaomin found in her garden. Can you see the rose? Which one is the Lily?

Cress

We grew some cress in our class. It didn't take long to grow. We ate some of the cress on crackers. It was spicey. Some of us liked it and some of us didn't.

Principal for the Day

We imagined we had Mr Robinson's job. Imagine if he used some of our ideas!

Plants

We shared what we know about plants by making a spider web. When we had an idea we put our hand up and someone would throw us the ball of wool. Then we would share our idea, hold onto the wool and toss the ball to someone else. It was great fun and some people had lots of ideas. We will do it again at the end of our plant unit and see if we have learnt even more!

Water Safety

We have been to our third water safety session. This time some of us had a turn in the boat. We practised falling out of the boat and kicking to safety. We even went underneath the boat and could breathe in the air pocket. Some of us practised our swimming using flutterboards and noodles.

Forward Rolls

Have a look at us practising our forward rolls. We are becoming more and more confident. Most of us can do one without support and we know how to tuck our chin to our chests so we don't hurt our necks.
